This year being the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO), this lecture by Michael (Mike) Noyes, Deputy Director-General of Security will reflect on the circumstances of ASIO's establishment in 1949, the important work ASIO has done for 75 years, how this work has changed and why it matters. In doing so, Mr Burgess will address the complex, challenging and changing nature of the contemporary security environment and discuss emerging security issues.
