Event Details

On behalf of the AIIA Council, thank you for your continuing support and engagement with international issues that matter.

This is a reminder of the upcomng 2022 AGM scheduled for Tuesday 8 November, with refreshments available from 5.45pm. It is to be held in the Harvard Room, Centenary Building, on the Sandy Bay campus of the University of Tasmania. The most convenient access is via Grosvenor Crescent.

If you have already registered then there is no need to re-register. Please find attached a full set of documents for the AGM including the agenda, draft minutes from 2021, 2021/22 financial statement, the President's Annual Report and other papers. In particular, please note:

  • You are invited to nominate office-bearers of the Council, including: president, two vice-presidents, treasurer/public officer and secretary. A nomination form is attached.
  • The AGM will be asked to adopt an updated Constitution for AIIA (Tas), which Council considered earlier this year. The modernised Constitution is the work of outgoing secretary, John Hayton, who consulted widely in developing the draft. The document is attached.
  • The invited guest speaker this year is Dr David Agnew, executive secretary of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR).

We look forward to seeing you on the 8th.
